my Approach
I can play a vital role in supporting those battling addiction, guiding them as they discover their unique path to recovery. As I walk alongside individuals with substance use and behavioral issues, my mission is to empower them to design, learn, and achieve their life goals. In doing so, I can help them identify and eliminate barriers—often rooted in addictive behaviors—that hinder their progress.

I understand there are as many paths to recovery as people seek it. “If there is anything modern research on recovery is teaching us, it is two critical lessons: people with alcohol and drug problems—even the most severe of such problems—are not a homogenous population, and there are many pathways and styles of long-term recovery,” as noted by William White, a leading figure in the field of addiction recovery.

The journey to recovery is deeply personal, and matching individuals with the path that resonates most with them is crucial to fostering a lasting recovery. By focusing on the strengths of those battling addiction, recovery coaches create a partnership that makes the road to recovery both profound and sustainable. This collaborative approach often leads to earlier entry into recovery and a stronger defense against relapse.

Ultimately, as a recovery coach, I help individuals navigate their unique path of recovery, respecting the diversity of their experiences and the varied paths they may take. As the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous reminds us, “There is a solution. Almost none of us liked the self-searching, the leveling of our pride, or the confession of shortcomings that the process requires for its successful consummation. But we saw that it worked in others.” My role is to support those in their search for that solution, whatever form it may take, ensuring that their journey is both meaningful and aligned with their vision of recovery.
